Our Pastor
Reverend Bob Deen
is a dynamic and powerful teacher of the Science of Mind, and we are very blessed to have him as our senior minister.
Reverend Deen began his Religious Science studies at the Atlanta Church of Religious Science with Dr. Kennedy Schultz. His first RSI (now International Centers for Spiritual Living or ICSL) ministry was in Tampa, Florida. He later served as the Pastor of the Visalia Church of Religious Science in California, where he was ordained. He has been a member of the RSI Board of Education, a teen advisor, and a leader in bringing the Science of Mind teaching to the world. Reverend Bob was elected pastor by the CSL membership in January of 2005 to permanently serve our spiritual community through his dynamic spirit by teaching, leading and counseling.
Reverend Bob brings a varied and rich background as well as an extensive education in ministry. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Masters in Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has completed extensive post-graduate work in Pastoral Psychotherapy, including individual and family therapies. His work as a chaplain allowed him to participate in developing a new addiction treatment center model used in hospitals in the Atlanta area.
Considering himself to be a "spirit weaver" of various spiritual teachings, Reverend Bob has extensive study and experience in Native American shamanism, South American shamanism, Hinduism, Biblical studies, world religions, and paganism. An adventurer, he enjoys leading groups on Sacred Journeys to places that have included Peru, Sedona, Alaska, along with sites closer to home. He is a proud father and grandfather who values his family ties above all else.
